| The Australian Sports
Commission, in conjunction with the University of
Queensland has developed a series of coach education programs for high performance
coaches. These programs have arisen from the need for
ongoing education of Australia's top sports coaches and the development of future high
performance coaches.
Professional Qualifications in Sports Coaching
The Graduate Certificate Program is designed for sports coaches
who do not possess foundational knowledge in human movement studies. After successful
completion of the Graduate Certificate, participants are eligible for entry into the
Graduate diploma
The Graduate Diploma is designed for sports coaches who are
actively coaching and are interested in developing elite coaching skills. The course also
caters for those who have extensive sports experience and are planning a career in
coaching, and satisfy the admission requirements. After successful completion of the
Graduate Diploma, students can proceed into the Masters program.
The Masters Program is professionally oriented and allows
candidates to pursue research interests within and beyond the program, including direct
passage to PhD candidacy.
